Privacy notice

Last updated 16 October 2026

This notice explains what RG Decorating does with the details you give us through this website, by phone, by email or on WhatsApp.

Who we are

RG Decorating is a painting and decorating business based in Leicestershire. We decide how your details are used. You can contact us at info@rgdecorating.com or on 07713 017595.

What we collect

• Your name, phone number and, if you give it, your email address.
• The postcode or town of the job, a description of the work, and when you'd like it done.
• If you use the "Ask us" chat, a copy of that conversation.
• Any photos you send us on WhatsApp or by email.

Why we use it

We use your details only to reply to you, visit or price the job, give you a quote and, if you go ahead, carry out the work and invoice you. We do this because you asked us to quote (taking steps before a contract), and to keep proper business and tax records. We never sell your details or use them for marketing without asking you first.

Who helps us

A few services handle your details on our behalf, only so the website works:

• Formspree delivers the quote form and chat enquiries to our email inbox.
• Cloudflare hosts this website and forwards emails sent to info@rgdecorating.com.
• Microsoft (Outlook) and Google (Gmail) store the enquiry emails we receive. Google Fonts also provides the website's fonts, so your browser connects to Google when the page loads.
• Anthropic provides the AI that answers the "Ask us" chat, when the AI is switched on. Your chat messages are sent to it so it can reply.

Some of these companies may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use the legal safeguards UK data protection law requires.

How long we keep it

If you don't go ahead with the work, we delete your enquiry within 12 months. If we do work for you, we keep your details and invoices for 6 years, as HMRC requires.

Cookies

This website doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the details we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete them, or object to how we use them. Email info@rgdecorating.com and we'll reply within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
